Rhoda is made of lots of hand dyed wool — the brown fur is plaid over dyed with different dyes, making a “family” of related colors. The sky is hand dyed light blue, and the bird is a mish mash of different dyed wools. The bird is kind of crazy and wild, but I love it. And the final shape is beautifully irregular, adding to the visual movement of the rug. It measures 9” high by 15” wide and has an interesting back binding. I used patterned cotton and was a bit short, so I sewed on a scrap of another fabric. This rug will come with a dowel inserted into a muslin sleeve if you want to display it on the wall.
