Annie Hayes Primitive Hooked Rugs

Purchasing and Shipping

PURCHASING: My web site is set up to securely accept credit cards or PayPal. All of my rugs and supplies can be purchased by international customers with payment in USD. I also accept checks. To do that, please send me an email using my Contact page. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions about placing an order.

SHIPPING: I charge a $10 flat rate within the US and usually ship via 3-day USPS. When the order is shipped, I let you know via email so that you know when to expect it. If you have other shipping needs, just let me know in an email. If for any reason, your shipment is damaged (I pack my work very carefully so it should not happen), please notify me via email immediately. If your order is a gift, please let me know and I will gift wrap it, include a note, and send you the receipt separately.

Commissions

COMMISSIONS: Much of my work comes to me in the form of a commission. Sometimes it's a search for a rug that will commemorate a beloved pet, or celebrate a wedding or new baby. In other cases, a rug that I’ve made (see my Archive page) might be great for your home.  Or, you may have an idea that you'd like to see in the form of a rug, using  colors and design elements that are meaningful to you. Whatever the motivation, just get in touch with me so we can talk about your project.

COMMISSION PROCESS: My method is to first discuss the rug with you (motif, size, colors, etc.). If you want to go forward with the commission, a $100 nonrefundable downpayment is sent. Then I make drawings that I send to you, usually by email. When a drawing is approved, I put the project in my schedule and a 50% down payment is sent. When the rug is complete, I let you know and a payment of the remaining balance due plus shipping (minus the 50% downpayment and the $100 drawing fee) is due.

REPRODUCING A RUG: Regarding making a rug that is based on something I’ve previously made: I’m happy to make any rug theme again, but there will be some variations because the nature of a handmade piece makes an exact copy impossible. The good thing is that this makes your rug one-of-a-kind.

Teaching

TEACHING: I enjoy teaching. It's a way to bring a wonderful craft to a group of people interested in working with their hands and making beautiful pieces. An added benefit is working communally, in a group, working hard and having other people to talk about and learn with.

NEWSLETTER: The best way to stay informed about my teaching schedule is to join my newsletter email list -- there's a form below for doing that. Another way is to email me so that I can let you know about upcoming workshops.

For those who are organizing teaching events, please contact me. I'm always open to talk about teaching opportunities, so please get in touch using my contact form on the Contact page.

Copyright and Permission

All of my work -- rugs and kit patterns -- are protected by copyright. If you're interested in featuring my work in a publication or blog, please contact me using my contact form. I'd be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
